Thank you for visiting Jefferson City’s home on the web.  Jefferson City is a great place to visit and a rewarding place to live, work, and play.  Jefferson City adjoins Cherokee Lake to the north and offers scenic vistas of The Great Smokey Mountains and Mt. Leconte. The scenery is especially colorful during fall and spring when the mountains are full of spectacular colors.  During the winter, the snow-covered mountain tops are just as beautiful, providing a wonderful view to residents and visitors to our city.  Whether you love the mountains, water, or outdoor sports, you will find it in or near Jefferson City.  Yet, the greatest assets of Jefferson City are the citizens who live and work here.  Full of friendly faces and traditional values, Jefferson City is a wonderful place to raise a family and a great place to retire.

I am proud of the progress Jefferson City has made over the last few years.  Jefferson City recently constructed a state-of-the-art city hall, fire department, police department, and library. The City’s water plant and distribution system has undergone major renovations which enable Jefferson City to provided infrastructure needs for many year.  Jefferson City is committed to revitalizing the old down town. Jefferson City recently constructed a Festival Park downtown with up to date modern accommodations capable of handled various types of events. The City also has plans to improve and expand its recreational facilities.

Jefferson City is fortunate to be the home of Carson-Newman University.  Part of Jefferson City for over a hundred years, students from all over the world attend classes at Carson-Newman.  Carson-Newman provides resources and cultural opportunities to the people of Jefferson City and we are proud to be a part of the historic university.

As Mayor of Jefferson City, allow me to personally invite you to visit and experience firsthand our hospitality and the southern charm our community of neighbors has to offer.
