County Clerk

The Jefferson County Clerk has an office inside Wal-Mart in Jefferson City. This office provides services such as motor vehicle title and registration transactions, marriage licenses, business licenses, notary public applications and services, and more.

The Jefferson County Office on Aging provides resources and public relations to the community about senior issues and available services. This county office is partnered with the Jefferson City Senior Citizens Center.

Animal Shelter

Animal Control is handled by both the Jefferson City Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff Department. Jefferson County is partnered with CARE (Companion Animal Rescue & Education), which is located in Jefferson City. CARE provides all the services of an animal shelter, such as accepting strays, adoptions, and spay/neuter services.

Landfill and Waste Disposal

The Jefferson County Sanitation Department operates the county’s landfill and waste disposal convenience centers. Jefferson City has two waste convenience centers, located at 330 Landfill Road and 560 Rocktown Road. These centers accept household bagged garbage and recycling. You can dispose of larger items at the county landfill.
