Jefferson City has a long history that spans more than 200 years. Built on the land where the Civil War Battle of Mossy Creek was fought stands Glenmore Mansion. You can take a tour of this Victorian house and learn about the history of the area.
 
The Historic Mossy Creek District in downtown Jefferson City has some buildings that date as far back as the 1800s. Take a walk or a drive down Old Andrew Johnson Highway to see the original commercial district.
